When I find myself upset about a news story, I use a simple tool to check my outage. I change the names in the story and ask if I would feel the same way if the story were reversed.
For example, when Trump says something over the line, I ask if I would be offended if Obama said the same. If the answer is yes, then I feel the anger is about the statement and not about partisanship.
Applied to the current Sanders/DNC database story. Read this and see if you would be offended.
From MSNBC
After (Hilary Clintons’) presidential campaign was disciplined by the Democratic National Committee for improperly accessing the (Bernie Sanders) campaign's proprietary voter database, documents obtained and reviewed by NBC News appeared to show that at least four individuals affiliated with the (Clinton) campaign conducted searches and saved the (Sanders) campaign's lists of potential voters over a period of more than forty minutes. NBC News has not independently verified the documents in this unfolding story, but the records appear to shed new light on the depth of the data breach.
The DNC has revoked the (Clinton) campaigns credentials to access the data until an investigation has been conducted.
Did your feelings change?
Clinton supporters, would you expect her campaign to be disciplined for such actions?
Sanders backers, if a Clinton staffer had done this and been fired would you be calling for DWS's removal?
With regards to 2016, I am in listening mode now. I back neither candidate. I am upset about the story and would be upset at any campaign guilty of this. It makes Democrats look small and petty.
